Society of Peer Mentors is an LSU engineering organization aimed to improve retention in the College of Engineering, provide guidance for fellow college engineering students, and to conduct STEM outreach activities for K-12 students in the area.
As an SPM member, I have contributed to the organization in multiple and various ways.

Through serving as the treasurer for two years I created and implemented the SPM venmo account to increase user experience and the amount of annual due payments received, the online store on the website to sell club merchandise, and the Remind text messaging service to increase awareness of our meetings and events to our 150+ members. Planning and executing a fundraiser each semester to aid in funding SPM operations as well as managing the organization's bank account were also the duties I performed within this role.

SPM has presented me with the outstanding achievement award twice for being very active within the organization though the amount of hours I have volunteered for our STEM K-12 outreach activities. Though being inspired by the activities SPM performs, I created a Car Assembly Line educational outreach activity to teach and inform kids about industrial engineering, and what role they play in the world. This activity has been performed at multiple events including school STEM nights and the annual LASM engineering day.
SPM also administrates the former annual Encounter Engineering (E2) camp* which eases the transition between high school and college by providing SPM mentors to incoming freshmen during this week-long camp. Each mentor has a group of four or five students and provides them with guidance and tips to make their transition more enjoyable.
In the past I have worked as a team leader, twice as the logistics leader, and as a program leader.
* This program transitioned to the current program known as Geaux Engineering.
Post graduation from my undergraduate engineering degree, I continued my education as a graduate student within LSU's full-time MBA program. As a graduate student I lobbied for and created the SPM Alumni Relations Chair position, which I served as with Gloria Mullins. Within this role I brought value to SPM by creating a bi-annual newsletter that is sent to SPM Alumni in order to create more community amongst the alums.

Car Assembly Line Outreach Video
I created this video as a visual aid to play while kids build their toy car, to show how many toy cars the assembly line produced while they worked on their one toy car.

TEDxLSU

Roles: Creative Communications Team Member, Logistics Lead
TEDxLSU is Baton Rouge's annual TED event that occurs on campus in the LSU union theater. Each year a team of students, the creative communications team, aids in helping promote, plan, and execute the day of event. I have volunteered on behalf of TEDxLSU for five events: Connect (2015), Why (2016), Chain Reaction (2017), Refract (2018), and Illuminate (2019).
Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE)
Roles: Member, Creativity Chair,
IISE 2019 Southeast Regional Conference
Committee Member
Institute of Industrial and System Engineers's LSU Chapter (IISE) is an organization at LSU that provides educational and professional development for LSU Industrial Engineering students. I served as IISE's creativity chair for the 2016-2017 year in which I was in charge of creating our promotional board, and merchandise we sold as a club. The LSU IISE chapter hosted the 2019 southeast regional conference, and I aided the conference committee to help promote, plan, and execute that event.
